Club Standards

Our members are continually working to improve their performance. The purpose of the club standards is to provide members with an incentive to train and improve race times and for these achievements be recognised and celebrated by the club. The standards also allow each runner, regardless of ability, to compare their performances against other members.

There are five club standard levels - Copper, Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum - and there are eight distances you can achieve each standard level in - 5k, 5m, 10k, 10m, half-marathon, 15m, 20m and marathon - and you need to achieve the appropriate time in five individual distances to achieve each level.

For a race result to be recognised it must be a race affiliated to an athletics governing body with a certificate of an accurately measured course (sorry, no fun-runs, cross-country events or parkruns). A useful list of licensed races can be found here.

Club standards run from 1 January-31 December each year. Awards are presented to those who successfully achieve a standard level at the Annual Awards Night, normally held in February or March.
